At York Region Child and Family Collaborative we see ourselves as a ‘village.’ We want to work alongside every family so that we can come together to support your child to become their best selves. Part of this means embarking on your child’s school journey with us, as a team. How your child starts school can have a great effect on their feelings about themselves as a learner.\nThe research is clear: young children learn best through play. In this workshop, we’ll unpack the science behind why play is the perfect medium for learning. We will explore how play wires the brain for learning, increases natural curiosity, bolsters communication skills, lowers anxiety and aggression, and fosters social and emotional health.\nHannah Beach has been travelling the globe supporting educators and families as they come together to explore the science behind how young children learn best – through play! We are excited to be working alongside Hannah and we invite you to join us for this warm and conversational workshop that will dive into the fascinating science of play and how it will support your child as they continue their learning journey.\n
