Girls from Dandelion Dance and Ottawa West came together over 5 Saturdays to explore what it means to be a girl in 2017 through dance, theatre, and visual arts. The project Celebrating Canada Through Diversity and Dance is part of AOE Arts Council’s NEIGHBOURHOOD ARTS 150.
“I think it’s wonderful to see other people doing dance, something that I love so much! I loved how most of the participants are brand new to dance and yet very brave to try something so different!”
Maya – from the Dandelion Dance Performance Company
“I love everything about the workshops. Everyone is very friendly and supportive … I never thought I would dance, but now here I am! The environment of the workshops is really friendly and open-minded. I enjoy being part of it.”
– Maha Ali, A fifteen year old participant
