It’s Week 3 of our Re-Thinking Recess series, and Tory is back to share how they intentionally bring play indoors—not because of the weather, but because they believe play belongs inside, too. At St. Bernadette’s, indoor play is scheduled on purpose, creating consistent opportunities for creativity, collaboration, and connection within the school day.
This week, Tory explains how they revisit the success criteria (see below the video) with students and clarify the role of teachers during this time. When indoor free play is planned with intention and supported with clear expectations, it becomes another powerful space for belonging and growth.
Has your school been on a play journey? We’d love to hear from you!
Stay tuned for next week’s video, all about soccer & loose parts play on the playground.
